A Belarusian woman found her photo before and after plastic surgery on a doctor's social media. Her consent was not asked
A woman contacted the National Center for Personal Data Protection after finding her "before and after" plastic surgery photos on the Instagram account of a doctor at a medical center. She had not given permission for the photos to be published, writes the press service of the NCPDP.

An important circumstance is that the doctor maintained the account as a professional, positioned himself as an employee of the medical center, and posted descriptions of medical services in the blog.
Therefore, according to the Personal Data Center, the medical institution should have obtained the woman's consent for the dissemination of such photos in accordance with Article 5 of the relevant law.
A representative of the medical center claimed that the doctor himself was responsible for posting the photos, as the account was his personal one. However, since the publications were directly related to the medical center's services and aimed at attracting clients, responsibility for obtaining consent also lay with the organization.
