Vital Karpanau called Nadzeya Katkavets a respected politician, a person close to him, and even the producer of the band.

Nadzeya Katkavets, Lukashenka's assistant and inspector for the Mahiliou region, attended the "Drazdy" band's concert in Mahiliou. Her presence in the hall was announced from the stage by the band's leader, Vital Karpanau. He called Katkavets a "very close person" to him and asked the audience to greet her with applause.
Karpanau joked that for them, Katkavets is not only a respected politician but also a producer: "Few people know, but in the Mahiliou region next year we will be touring under a new brand 'Drazdy Nadziei' (Nadzeya's Drazdy)," Karpanau said, eliciting laughter from the audience.
He also thanked the official "for many years of fruitful work for the benefit of the country," as well as for supporting their creativity.
The band "Drazdy" was founded in 2005 by Vital Karpanau. The group is known for its Belarusian-language songs, primarily the hit "Khata Batskou" (Parents' House). In 2020, the musicians performed at pro-government events, but later still faced problems organizing concerts. In 2025, Karpanau even announced that the band would stop performing, but ultimately "Drazdy" continued touring.
Nadzeya Katkavets returned to a high government position in July 2026 after an almost ten-year break. Earlier, she worked at the Shklou state farm "Haradzets" together with Lukashenka, was the first deputy minister of agriculture, and from 2013-2017 – deputy head of Lukashenka's affairs department. Afterwards, she worked at Paritetbank and the Belarusian National Biotechnology Corporation. She now supervises the Mahiliou region.
