In Minsk, surgeons operated on a man who was in another hospital at the time
A 60-year-old patient with prostate cancer underwent a remote operation. The man was in one hospital, while surgeons controlled the robot from another.

The patient was located at the Minsk Scientific and Practical Center for Surgery, Transplantology and Hematology. A medical team was next to him, assisting with the operation and controlling its progress. Meanwhile, surgeons controlled the robot from the Minsk Regional Clinical Hospital, writes BelTA.
During such an operation, the surgeon controls the movements of the robot's instruments. According to medics, this allows for precise work in narrow spaces where it is difficult to reach the desired organ with conventional surgical instruments.
Doctors also note that patients recover faster after robot-assisted operations. According to them, discharge is possible as early as the sixth day. It is not specified in the report when this particular man will be discharged.
The Minsk Regional Clinical Hospital has already performed dozens of robot-assisted operations. Six doctors and two nurses underwent training in China to work with the equipment.
