Russian deputy with a Z tattoo on his neck was brought to Brest as an honorary guest. In the past, he was an American fighter
This weekend, an international tournament "Night of Boxing" was held in Brest. The main guest was 55-year-old Jeff Monson, a former American mixed martial arts fighter, and now a Russian deputy with a Z tattoo on his neck. He was greeted with a karavai (traditional bread) near the plane's gangway, describes BGmedia.

Jeff Monson is a former American mixed martial artist, originally from Minnesota. He competed in UFC and PRIDE, losing a fight for the UFC heavyweight title in 2006. A multiple world champion in grappling (ADCC) and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He became known in Russia after his fight with Fedor Emelianenko in 2011, which he lost.
In 2016, Monson received an 'LNR' passport, and in 2018 — Russian citizenship by presidential decree from Putin. He later became a deputy. In 2023, he renounced his U.S. citizenship, and in 2024, he converted to Islam. He still doesn't speak Russian fluently.
After the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Monson got a Z tattoo on his neck.

He reiterates Kremlin narratives about 'defending Donbas from fascism', calls the USA 'the main purveyor of death', admires Putin, and says he is ready to go to the front.
