There are several options on how to proceed.

It is possible to return an item without a receipt, but you need to prove that the item was purchased from that specific seller.
As explained by Inna Gavrilchik, head of the Consumer Rights Protection Department of the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade, witness testimonies will suffice as proof if you were not alone in the store. CCTV footage can also help: you can ask the administration to save the relevant segment.
Indirect evidence will also work — a bank statement if paying by card, an electronic receipt in email or an app, correspondence with the seller.
At the same time, the ministry advises not to throw away the paper receipt immediately after purchase. It should be kept until the end of the warranty period or the product's expiry date.
