Which imported goods are most common in Belarusian stores, and which are completely absent?
For the first nine months of 2026, the largest share of imported goods in the sales of Belarusian stores comprised fresh fruits and nuts, fish, and vegetable oil. Belarusian producers, in turn, dominate the sales of eggs, meat, and vegetables, according to data published by Belstat.

From the beginning of the year to the end of September, the share of imports in sales of fresh fruits and nuts reached 88.3%. For fish, it was 85.1%, and for vegetable oil — 84.9%.
A significant share of imported goods is also present in other categories. Imported cereals accounted for 59.5% of sales, apples — over 55%, pasta — 43.3%, and chocolate and confectionery products with cocoa — 41.6%. The share of imported baby food was almost 33%.
Belarusian goods entirely occupy the retail market for eggs: their share in sales for the nine months was 100%. Over 99% is accounted for by Belarusian products in the categories of butter and rapeseed oil, as well as vodka. In most segments of meat products and canned meats, the share of domestic goods ranges from 90% to 99%.
Belstat also published data on the physical volumes of retail sales. Over the past 12 months, Belarusians bought approximately 19% more canned meats, 17.1% more alcoholic liqueurs, 15.6% more sugar, and 14.6% more canned vegetables and juices. Sales of onions and canned fish increased by almost 11%.
Overall, by the end of September, the physical volumes of retail sales of food products generally increased compared to the same period last year.
The largest drop was recorded in the sales of fruit wines — by 17.4%. Sales of dry baby formulas and porridges decreased by almost 7%.
