He was called a "Zionist comedian" and accused of supporting Israel.

Galkin was scheduled to perform in Istanbul on October 25. Turkish media and activists demanded the cancellation of the concert, accusing the comedian of justifying Israel's actions in Gaza. According to the organizers, local authorities banned the performance, citing public order and safety.
The concert was supposed to take place at the Istanbul Congress Center. Galkin published the organizers' cancellation statement on Instagram.
"The reason for the cancellation was an official decision by the Istanbul Governor's administration, which prohibits the event from being held for reasons of public order and safety," the statement said.
A few days before the concert, the Turkish newspaper Yeni Şafak wrote that Galkin "justifies Israel's actions in Gaza," calling them "self-defense." In its report on the cancellation of the performance, the newspaper called him a "Zionist comedian."
Other Turkish publications used the same characterization, writes "Meduza."
Maxim Galkin sharply criticized Russian authorities on the very first day of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine – February 24, 2022, writing: "There can be no justification for war! No to war!" In March 2022, he left Russia for Israel with his wife Alla Pugacheva and their children. After leaving, the artist continues to publicly condemn attacks on Ukrainian cities and donates part of his earnings to help Ukrainian refugees.
