Second suspect arrested in Poland for the murder of artist Semyon Skrapetski
On October 22, the Polish Internal Security Agency detained 22-year-old Georgian citizen Mahmud A. He is suspected of aiding in the murder of Russian artist Robert Kuzavkov, known by the pseudonym Semyon Skrapetski, writes the publication Most.

Semyon Skrapetski was shot dead on June 15 in the Polish city of Biała Podlaska, located near the Belarusian border. According to the investigation, an unknown man fired three shots at him from a short-barreled firearm. When the artist fell, the assailant approached closer and shot him two more times.
The artist's real name was Robert Kuzavkov. He was a cartoonist, bard, performance artist, and blogger, known for his anti-Putin stance. In his works and performances, he criticized the Russian authorities, including Vladimir Putin and Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov. Alexander Lukashenka also featured in some of his works. In 2021, the artist moved to Poland, fearing political persecution.
According to Polish special services, Mahmud A. flew from Georgia to Poland on October 18. The next day, he was arrested in a parking lot near the A2 highway. Two other Georgian citizens were with him.
The investigation suggests that Mahmud A. might have assisted Elnur A. — another Georgian citizen who was detained on June 18, three days after Skrapetski's murder. Elnur A. was charged with murder and taken into custody.
In the following months, Internal Security Agency officers conducted operational activities to identify all possible participants in the crime. As a result, they identified Mahmud A., who was charged with aiding in the murder, as well as illegal possession of firearms and ammunition. He did not admit guilt.
On October 21, a court in Lublin ordered Mahmud A. to be remanded in custody for three months.
The two other Georgian citizens arrested with him were handed over to the Polish Border Guard Service. Deportation proceedings have been initiated against them, with a ban on re-entry into Poland for ten years.
