The combined wealth of the world's top ten billionaires decreased by almost $300 billion in a month
The total wealth of the ten richest people in the world decreased by $273 billion in October 2026, totaling $2.8 trillion as of November 1. As reported by Forbes, the reason for this was the decline in tech company stocks amid weak financial results and investors' concerns about high spending on artificial intelligence development.

Tesla and SpaceX founder Elon Musk suffered the most: his capital decreased by $68 billion in a month, to $869 billion. The main reason was an 11% drop in SpaceX stock value. They account for almost 80% of his wealth. A 13% increase in Tesla shares could not offset these losses.
Google co-founder Larry Page took second place in terms of losses, having lost $53 billion. His capital is estimated at $233 billion. Another Google co-founder, Sergey Brin, lost $49 billion in a month, and his wealth now stands at $214 billion. Meanwhile, shares of Google's parent company, Alphabet, fell by more than 18%.
Out of the ten richest people in the world, only two managed to increase their capital in October — Steve Ballmer and Warren Buffett.
Microsoft founder Steve Ballmer's wealth increased by $1 billion, reaching a capital of $162 billion. This happened after a 2% rise in Microsoft shares.
Investor Warren Buffett increased his wealth by $13 billion, to $154 billion. Shares of his company, Berkshire Hathaway, rose by 9%.
