Belarusian authorities refused to extradite Kondrotas-Celofanas to Lithuania, who fled to Belarus from court at home
The Prosecutor General's Office of Belarus has rejected a request for the extradition of the pro-Russian Lithuanian activist Antanas Kondrotas, known as Celofanas. In Lithuania, he has been sentenced to imprisonment. A European arrest warrant has also been issued for him.

The Ministry of Justice of Lithuania informed the Kaunas District Court about the refusal of the Belarusian authorities, reports LRT.
The reasons for the refusal are not stated in the message.
Vice Minister of Justice Martynas Dobrovolskis stated that Lithuania continues to seek the execution of the sentence.
The Kaunas District Court issued a European arrest warrant on June 29, 2026. According to Dobrovolskis, this document allows for Kondrotas's detention if he is found in the territory of the EU or partner countries.
The Lithuanian Antanas Kondrotas-Celofanas, whom Belarusian propagandists "evacuated" from Lithuania, as they claimed, has already given "an interview without censorship or regard" to Belarusian television.
He opposed the presence of Belarusians in Lithuania, insulted the Tsikhanouskis, and threatened to achieve their expulsion to Minsk. As a result, he himself fled to Belarus, escaping imprisonment, although he was obliged not to leave Lithuania.
At the time of his escape to Belarus, Kondrotas had a sentence of actual imprisonment, which had not yet entered into force due to appeal processes. This was a case concerning the riots near the Seimas in 2021.
