Putin awarded ROC figure from Belarus on Russia's «National Unity Day»
Russian President Vladimir Putin awarded the Pushkin Medal to Orthodox priest Alexander Romanchuk, who heads the Synodal Historical Commission of the Belarusian Exarchate of the Moscow Patriarchate. The award was presented to him on November 4 in the Kremlin during a solemn ceremony on the occasion of National Unity Day in Russia, according to the Russian publication Sputnik.

Accepting the medal, Romanchuk thanked Putin for the award and wished him God's help in his state activities, which he called selfless service.
He also expressed confidence that thanks to the wisdom of the leaders of Russia and Belarus, Vladimir Putin and Alexander Lukashenka, the union of the two «blood sisters» — Russia and Belarus — would only grow stronger.
He called the received award a medal for all priests of the Belarusian Exarchate of the Russian Orthodox Church who «sincerely pray for the peoples of the two fraternal countries».
