Opposition that won in Serbia not planning to impose sanctions against Russia
Representative of the "Student List" Yovo Bakic, whose bloc won the snap parliamentary elections in Serbia, stated that the new government will not impose sanctions against Russia. He said this in an interview with Russian propagandists from Russia Today, writes The Moscow Times.

According to Yovo Bakic, given Serbia's small size, sanctions would change nothing but would have a very negative symbolic meaning. He emphasized that his bloc respects Russia as a great power, a historically important partner, and in many cases, a defender of Serbia. According to him, there will be no changes in this matter.
Bakic also stated that Serbia does not intend to abandon Russian gas, despite pressure from the European Union. He noted that the new authorities intend to act in the country's national interests, not to please foreign states. The "Student List" has energy specialists who will deal with this issue.
Earlier, former Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, who lost the elections, claimed that in case of opposition victory, sanctions against Russia would be imposed already in March — April 2027. However, even before the vote, representatives of the opposition movement stated that they did not plan to do so.
The "Student List" program focuses on reforms of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the education system, combating corruption, checking the origin of officials' property, and ensuring freedom of the media. The question of Serbia's accession to the European Union is proposed to be put to a referendum.
Snap parliamentary elections took place on October 25. Aleksandar Vučić, who resigned presidential powers at the end of September, expected to win and intended to lead the government. According to preliminary data from Ipsos/CeSID, his bloc "United Serbia" received 38.8% of the votes, while the "Student List" received 53%.
The latter can get 141 seats out of 250 in parliament, which will allow it to independently form the government. Vučić admitted defeat and blamed it on the "deep state" of the USA, as well as forces in the European Union opposing American President Donald Trump.
The Kremlin, commenting on the election results, stated that it expects to continue developing relations with Serbia, despite the defeat of its ally Vučić. However, Russian President's press secretary Dmitry Peskov added that it takes two to tango.
The "Student List" is a bloc created by activists of the "Students in Blockade" association. It emerged during the mass protests of 2024, which began after the collapse of a canopy at the reconstructed railway station in Novi Sad. 16 people died then.

А гэтыя новыя хутчэй пра спробу нешта памяняць у краіне на больш лепшае, сумленнае і празрыстае. Толькі вось што атрымецца - вялікае пытаньне
