Lukashenka: Belarusians are waiting for Mongolian cashmere to appear in stores
Mongolia plans to triple the volume of mutual trade with Belarus by 2029. This was stated by Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khürelsükh during a meeting with Alexander Lukashenka.

Following the talks in an expanded format, Belarus and Mongolia signed a package of bilateral documents. In particular, the countries agreed on a roadmap for the development of cooperation for 2027-2029.
The politicians also exchanged instruments of ratification for the Treaty on Friendly Relations and Cooperation, which was concluded during Lukashenka's first visit to Mongolia in June 2024.
The parties signed a roadmap for cooperation in agriculture for 2027-2029, as well as agreements on interaction in customs and information spheres and on interregional cooperation.
During the talks, Lukashenka noted the opportunities for increasing mutual trade turnover opened up by the trade agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union and Mongolia. It entered into force in July 2026.
According to Lukashenka, Belarusian consumers are waiting for Mongolian cashmere, leather and wool products, as well as other Mongolian goods, to appear in stores.
Cooperation in agriculture was a separate topic of the talks. Lukashenka recalled that in June, the governments of the two countries agreed on new deliveries of Belarusian equipment to Mongolia. This includes tractors, potato and stone harvesting machines, as well as grain dryers.
Lukashenka also spoke about plans to create service centers and joint ventures in Mongolia, as well as to develop cooperation in personnel training. Earlier it was reported that the Belarusian manufacturer of quarry dump trucks BelAZ is considering the possibility of launching an assembly production of its equipment in Mongolia.
According to Mikhail Orda, the Ambassador of Belarus to Mongolia, about 7,500 Belarusian Belarus-brand tractors are currently in operation in the country. The Mongolian side is also interested in Belarusian fire, logging, and energy-intensive equipment, as well as products from "Gomselmash".
Orda noted that Mongolia has about 130,000 square kilometers of taiga that needs to be developed and processed. According to him, Belarus has relevant experience and competencies.
Among other promising areas of cooperation, the ambassador named the food and mining industries, construction, and the development of contacts between the business communities of the two countries.
