Siarzhuk Douhushau gave a concert in Warsaw in support of the first book about Belarusian lirniks
Yesterday in Warsaw, a charity concert by musician and researcher Siarzhuk Douhushau, titled "Between Heaven and Earth," took place.

The performance by the leader of the "Kasary" band was not only a creative expression but also a step towards attracting attention to a crowdfunding campaign on the Gronka platform: the musician is doing everything possible to complete the fundraising for the publication of the first bilingual book about Belarusian lirniks, writes Reform.news.
Siarhei's project aims to bring back into cultural circulation a layer of heritage that was almost entirely destroyed in the 20th century.
The book "Lyre and Lirnictva in Belarusian Culture" is based on Douhushau's master's research, prepared at the Academy of Sciences of Belarus. After forced emigration in 2021, the author was not allowed to defend his work, so the material was reworked into a fascinating study for a wide range of readers.
The hardcover edition, approximately 300 pages long, will be published in a print run of 500 copies jointly with Magenta and "Etna Tradycyja" publishing houses. The book will be bilingual (Belarusian-English), making the heritage of itinerant musicians accessible to foreign ethnographers and researchers.
The total budget for the project is 9000 euros. Thanks to sponsors and investors, 3500 euros have already been received, and the goal of the crowdfunding on Gronka is to collect the remaining 5500 euros. The collected funds will go towards editing, English translation, design and layout, work with archival photographs, and the printing of the edition itself.
Currently, 2940 euros have already been collected (more than half of the required amount on the platform). After the successful completion of the fundraiser, the team plans to publish the book in 4–5 months:
You can support the publication and help raise the remaining amount for the first book about Belarusian lirnictva on the project's page on the Gronka platform.
