President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has completed his official two-day visit to the Republic of Belarus.
On August 28 the Presidents of Belarus and Azerbaijan held one-on-one meeting and then a meeting in the extended format to discuss bilateral cooperation, BelTA says.
Aliaksandr Lukashenka confirmed Belarus’ commitment to further all-round cooperation with Azerbaijan. He stressed that Belarus and Azerbaijan have no closed themes. The two countries take pride in their many-year friendship.
The President of Belarus expressed confidence that the meeting would become the next important step in bilateral relations, would help outline new cooperation areas.
“I think our relations are distinguished by concrete projects behind every initiative. There has been no unsettled issue yet,” Ilham Aliyev said.
During the official visit of Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev to Belarus, the two countries have signed a package of international agreements on cooperation, including the intergovernmental agreement to create favorable legal, economic and organizational conditions to expand leasing activities. Representatives of Belarus and Azerbaijan concluded three intergovernmental cooperation agreements in the law enforcement field. These are the intergovernmental cooperation agreement on combating crimes involving cultural valuables, the agreement on combating money laundering and financing of terrorism and the cooperation agreement on combating illegal production and trade in firearms, ammunition, explosives and explosive devices.

Aliaksandr Lukashenka has awarded President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev the Order of Friendship of Peoples. The Belarusian leader noted that this Order is bestowed upon a limited number of politicians who made a considerable contribution to the development of the Belarusian state and expansion of ties.
“This historical award is a tribute to you and all the people of Azerbaijan,” Lukashenka said. In his turn, Aliyev invited Lukashenka to pay his visit to Azerbaijan.
