Two foreign citizens attempted to enter Belarus from Poland without declaring a large sum of cash. Both men are 45 years old, and each was carrying more than $75,000, writes the General Prosecutor's Office.

The incident occurred on January 28. When filling out the customs declaration, the men indicated only the temporary import of a car and the transport of a dog, but did not report any cash. During the inspection, however, Belarusian customs officers found currency both in personal belongings and in the car. The foreigners themselves explained that they were not familiar with the declaration rules.
All money was confiscated. The men were temporarily released on bail of 11,250 rubles each, taking into account that they have minor children to support.
Under the initiated criminal cases, they may face a fine, restriction of liberty, or deprivation of liberty for up to five years.
