«Naturally, we do not accept such accusations, we disagree with them, we consider them biased and unfounded. And, in fact, we resolutely reject them,» said Putin's press secretary Dmitry Peskov.
On February 14, the leaders of Great Britain, Sweden, France, Germany, and the Netherlands issued a joint statement on the murder of Alexei Navalny in a penal colony on February 16, 2024.
Laboratories in these countries analyzed samples taken after Alexei Navalny's death and somehow removed from Russia by his supporters, and concluded that the politician was poisoned with epibatidine — a substance based on the venom of the Ecuadorian poison dart frog.
«Only the Russian state possessed the means, motive, and opportunity to use this deadly toxin against Navalny during his imprisonment in a Russian penal colony in Siberia, and we hold it responsible for his death,» the statement published on the UK government's website reads.
