One Pentagon Scenario Envisions Eliminating Ayatollah Khamenei and His Son

Donald Trump's administration is prepared to consider a proposal that allows Iran 'symbolic' uranium enrichment, provided it doesn't create the possibility of building a bomb, a senior US official told Axios.
“If the Iranians want to prevent an attack, they must make an offer we cannot refuse. Iranians are constantly missing opportunities. If they play games, patience will run out,” a senior US official told the publication.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated on Friday that the Iranian proposal would be finalized within the next two to three days.
“The President has not yet made a decision on striking. I know this because we haven't struck yet. He might never do it,” the Axios interlocutor said.
According to him, the Pentagon presented Trump with numerous options. “They have options for every scenario. One of the scenarios [involves] the elimination of the Ayatollah and his son and mullahs,” he said, referring to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, whose son is considered his potential successor. “What the President will choose, no one knows. I don't think he himself knows,” the source added.
A second source confirmed that the plan to assassinate Khamenei and his son was proposed to Trump several weeks ago.
Iran is currently not enriching uranium — centrifuges at its nuclear facilities were largely destroyed by airstrikes in June.
Khamenei has stated that Iran will not relinquish its right to enrichment, which, Tehran asserts, will only be for peaceful purposes. Trump has stated that he will not allow Iran to enrich uranium.
