In two years, the number of electric cars has increased more than fourfold. What about charging stations?

Back in 2018, a decision was made to develop charging infrastructure, and "Belarusneft" was designated as the national operator.
Currently, about 2100 electric vehicle charging stations operate in the country. However, the rapid increase in the number of electric vehicles leads to station overload in certain areas.
By 2030, the government plans to significantly increase the number of electric vehicles. For this, it is necessary to install at least 16,000 additional charging stations. The success of this task depends on the timely development of power grids and infrastructure connection.
According to the Ministry of Energy, in 2025, electric vehicles consumed about 92 million kWh through charging stations. Considering that some cars are charged from a regular household network, the total electricity consumption by electric transport is estimated at approximately 200 million kWh per year.
