Political prisoner Kiryl Ashurak, sentenced to 13 years, suffered a microstroke in detention
The 26-year-old political prisoner and defendant in the "Civil Self-Defense Squads of Belarus" case is experiencing pressure in detention.

According to human rights defenders, the political prisoner has now been convicted under Art. 411 of the Criminal Code (malicious disobedience to the colony administration). Under the new sentence, he will serve his term in strict regime colony No. 9 in Horki.
It is known that Kiryl's health condition is very severe. He has a number of serious illnesses, and at the end of 2025, the political prisoner suffered a microstroke.
According to "Viasna", Kiryl has not seen his relatives for three years.
Kiryl Ashurak was sentenced to 13 years in a reinforced-regime penal colony and a fine of 400 base units (12,800 rubles) under Part 2 of Art. 290-4 (participation in the activities of a terrorist organization), Part 6 of Art. 16 and Part 2 of Art. 289 (accomplice in an act of terrorism) of the Criminal Code.
He was convicted in the "Civil Self-Defense Squads of Belarus" case, which was recognized as a terrorist organization in Belarus. Also involved in the case were Dzmitry Sasnouski, Aliaksei Hlotau, Natallia Matsveeva, Vadzim Hulevich. They are accused of three episodes — an attempt to blow up a communication node of the Russian Navy in Vileyka, an attempted assassination of propagandist Ryhor Azaronak, and an attempt to destroy logging equipment in forestry enterprises.
