Smokers to be Banned from Porches of Apartment Buildings and Dormitories
In Belarus, there are plans to strengthen anti-tobacco legislation and enhance control over the use of tobacco and electronic cigarettes. This was announced by Olga Bartman, head of the public health department of the Republican Center for Hygiene and Public Health, as reported by the "Minsk-Novosti" agency.

One of the main proposed changes is increased responsibility for selling nicotine-containing products to minors. Adults who purchase such products for teenagers will also face more severe penalties. In addition, it is planned to introduce additional requirements for manufacturers of electronic cigarettes and tobacco heating systems.
Another important change is the expansion of the list of places where smoking will be prohibited. For example, porches of apartment buildings and dormitories are planned to be included in this list.
Currently, fairly strict rules are already in force in Belarus: it is forbidden to openly display cigarettes in shops, there are restrictions on smoking in public places, mandatory special product labeling, and a complete ban on sales to individuals under 18 years of age. Administrative responsibility is provided for violations, and control is ongoing.
Simultaneously, a common technical regulation for such products is being developed at the level of the Eurasian Economic Union. The process has been ongoing for several years and is not yet complete, as countries have different approaches. For example, electronic cigarettes are already completely banned in Kazakhstan, and similar measures are also being considered in other countries of the interstate organization.
