Belarusian crypto banks will operate with 26 cryptocurrencies. This was announced today by Alexander Yegorov, First Deputy Chairman of the Board of the National Bank.
“Regarding currencies, approximately… it seems, 26 currencies have been designated. The most popular ones are Bitcoin, Ether, Ton, Solana, Cardano. They are included in the list of usable cryptocurrencies, and stablecoins are also included. These are USDT and USDC. Accordingly, for now we see these 26 currencies,” said Alexander Yegorov.
He also announced that crypto banks will be allowed 11 operations.
“Starting from crypto deposits, crypto loans, crypto collateral, staking operations—where you transfer your crypto and it participates in the creation of new crypto, for which you receive a reward—the possibility of crypto transfer operations, meaning a transfer from one natural or legal person to another natural or legal person, the possibility for crypto banks to issue their own tokens is provided. And, of course, exchange operations, custodial storage—this is essentially when a person transfers their crypto for trusted storage to the bank,” he said.
