Retired FSB Major General, whose company supplies equipment to security forces, found dead in Moscow. Suicide is suspected
83-year-old Igor Laptev was found on August 20 in his apartment, writes "Moskovsky Komsomolets".

Laptev first served in the KGB, then in the FSB, dealing with information security of departmental management systems. He then worked in the tax police and the State Tax Service, becoming Deputy Minister of Taxes and Duties.
Since 1998, Laptev headed the Board of Directors of the company "Informtekhnika i Svyaz" (Information Technology and Communications), which later became part of the "Informtekhnika" group of companies. The company produces computer software and equipment.
Its largest counterparties listed in open databases include the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Saint Petersburg telephone exchange, etc.
