Alexander Lukashenka signed a decree on amending documents regulating the operation of the republican public security monitoring system, the politician's press service reported.

It is reported that changes have been made to the decree of November 28, 2013, on the creation and use of a video surveillance system for public order protection. Now, regional executive committees and the Minsk city executive committee will be obliged to annually update the lists of objects that must be equipped with video surveillance devices.
The decree of May 25, 2017, on the republican public security monitoring system, has been presented in a new version, taking into account the practice of its use.
It is envisaged to additionally involve individual entrepreneurs and legal entities in the organizational and financial support of the system. At the same time, individuals — apartment owners in multi-apartment residential buildings — are exempt from compensating the costs of the republican budget and paying for electricity consumed by the monitoring system's equipment.
Organizations that are not required to reimburse the costs of maintaining and operating the system are also identified. Among them are budget organizations, municipal property organizations, and state road management enterprises. This list is not exhaustive: Lukashenka can supplement it with his decision.
The circle of monitoring system users is expanded. This includes units of the Armed Forces engaged in operational-investigative activities and the protection of critically important facilities.
Additionally, the system can be used to record administrative offenses related to road safety and vehicle operation.
The decree also provides for other changes aimed at accelerating the development of the monitoring system and improving the quality of its work.
