Nine Historic Residential Buildings to Undergo Major Renovation in Minsk in 2026
In 2026, nine residential buildings in the capital, classified as historical and cultural heritage sites, will undergo major renovation. Marina Tolstik, Director General of Minsk City Housing, informed Minsk-News about this.

— Major renovation of historic buildings requires an unconventional approach and the highest qualifications from the workers performing it, — explained M. Tolstik. — Therefore, to guarantee the preservation of the buildings' unique appearance, all design solutions are developed and approved jointly with the Ministry of Culture.
According to the Director General of MCH, the increased cost of major renovation for such buildings, compared to renovation in typical houses, is mainly due to facade works (their cost is 2-2.5 times higher), balcony restoration, and roof repairs. Specifically, special plastering solutions and technologies are used for facade renovation, which allow for the restoration and preservation of decorative stucco and bring the building's exterior as close as possible to its original appearance.
