The game-worn jersey of legendary basketball player Michael Jordan, which he wore during the 1998 NBA Finals series, was sold at auction for a record $14 million. This was announced by the press service of the National Basketball Association.

Jordan wore the red jersey with his autograph on June 5, 1998, in the second game of the playoff final series against the Utah Jazz. He scored 37 points and helped the Chicago Bulls win 93:88.
Chicago won the series with an overall score of 4:2, and Jordan secured his sixth championship title with the Bulls.
The sum of $14 million became a record for basketball-related collectibles. It is also the second most expensive sports jersey ever sold at auction. The record belongs to the uniform of American baseball player Babe Ruth, which was sold for $24.12 million in 2024.
Jordan's 1998 Finals jersey has been sold for at least $10 million for at least the third time. In 2022, a jersey from the first game of the Finals series sold for approximately $10.1 million, and in September 2026, a jersey from the third game went for approximately $12.3 million at auction.
