It all started with a familiar scheme. A 20-year-old girl received a call and was asked to dictate a code from an SMS.
After that, she received a call from a fake State Security Committee and was intimidated with a criminal case for bank account fraud.
The student believed the perpetrators and agreed to follow their instructions to prove her innocence. The girl met two unfamiliar women and took about 10 thousand dollars from them in various currencies, counted the money on camera, and then drove them out of town and left them in a hideout.
The fraudsters demanded that the girl check in every hour. They also instructed her to go to Barysaw and rent a hotel room there to deflect suspicion.
The next day, the student went to the airport, where she collected half a million Russian rubles (about 20 thousand Belarusian) from another unfamiliar woman and transported them abroad. When the girl returned to Minsk, she was detained.
