Political scientist Valer Karbalevich named the most important day in his life
The political observer for Radio Svaboda shared this with Glafira Zhuk in the program "Just to ask."

In the personal part of the conversation, Karbalevich recalled the story related to the disappearance of politician Viktar Hanchar and businessman Anatol Krasouski in 1999.
When asked about the most important day in his life, he answered: "It's the day I didn't go to the bathhouse. Viktar Hanchar invited me there the day before his disappearance from the bathhouse, but due to circumstances, I couldn't make it."
As is known, on the evening of that day, Viktar Hanchar and Anatol Krasouski disappeared without a trace. The so-called death squad is suspected in their disappearance.
In 2019, Yury Harauski, who called himself a fighter of the Belarusian "death squad," recounted how he participated in the kidnapping and murder of Lukashenka's opponents.
"Hanchar and Krasouski were the last to leave the bathhouse, got into a car. The street was dark, there were no streetlights, no people – we were in control. And when their car started moving, we blocked the road. I took literally two steps, broke the window, and hit Hanchar's lip and nose with a chain. Pankou opened the door, I used that chain to choke Hanchar, pulled him out of the car, and put him on the ground," Harauski recounted.
Harauski said that both Hanchar and Krasouski were personally killed by Dzmitry Paulichenka, who fired two shots into each of their hearts, and their belongings were burned, and their naked bodies were buried in a pre-prepared pit. The pit was deep, 4-5 meters.
