Yegor Creed's music video to be checked for genocide denial by Belarusian prosecutor's office

The Prosecutor General's Office of Belarus has asked the Investigative Committee to check the music video "Mily Ublyudok" (Sweet Bastard) by Russian rapper Yegor Creed.

The reason was the artist's long-sleeve shirt with a stylized image of the main character from the film "Come and See".

"A music video by singer Yegor Creed has been posted on the Internet, in which the performer appeared in clothes with a stylized image of the main character from the film 'Come and See'. The designers who created this image used the film's poster, but added a tattoo and piercing to the portrait of the main character, as well as the inscription 'Distance Marking'. The demonstration of the video caused a wide public outcry and received negative feedback in social networks and messengers," the Prosecutor General's Office stated in its message.

The merch was released by the Moscow concept store KM20, founded by Minsk native Olga Karput, in collaboration with an American brand. The print features the face from the movie poster of the 1985 film "Come and See" by director Elem Klimov: a 16-year-old boy named Flyora, who survived the death of his relatives and the burning of a Belarusian village. In addition to tattoos and piercings, the designers added bright colors and the inscription "Distance Marking" to him.
