"Clara and the Sun" is released worldwide today. Starring the star of "Wednesday"
The events take place in the near future, where modified children live.

On October 23, the film "Clara and the Sun" is released worldwide, based on the novel of the same name by Nobel laureate Kazuo Ishiguro.
The events of the book take place in the near future, presumably in the USA. There are modified (augmented) children to be more successful in this life. But they live at home, rarely go out, school classes are held online, so they are hired Ideal Friends (IFs) and Ideal Friends — humanoid robots — to interact with the children, be their friends, and care for them.
Clara is one such IF. She goes to Josie, a girl suffering from some mysterious illness, who is weakening with each passing day.
What does the Sun have to do with it? Clara must agree with it on one important thing.
Ishiguro's novel is a poignant dystopia about self-sacrifice and the readiness to live for another person, to whom one became attached from the very first minute, simply by seeing them in a shop window.
Clara is played by "Wednesday" star Jenna Ortega. Josie is Mia Tharia, her mother is Amy Adams, the robot shop manager is Natasha Lyonne, and the eccentric artist Capaldi is Steve Buscemi.
The film's director, the author of "Jojo Rabbit" and "Thor" is Taika Waititi.
