Belarusian businesswoman sold a villa in Jurmala for almost 7 million euros
One of the largest recent deals involving historical real estate took place in Jurmala. Belarusian Mariya Gvardeytseva sold a three-story villa on the shore of the Gulf of Riga for 6.8 million euros.

The businesswoman, artist, and former wife of Itransition founder Sergey Gvardeytsev sold a historic villa on the shore of the Gulf of Riga. In 2018, she acquired it for 6.35 million euros — at the time, it was one of the most expensive real estate deals in Jurmala.
According to data from the Latvian Land Book, Alexander Schneider became the new owner of the villa. Otkrito.lv reports on the deal.
The house stands just 40–50 meters from the sea. Along with it, a plot of 7075 square meters — more than 70 ares — was sold.

The area of the three-story mansion is 1220.9 square meters. It has ten rooms, eight of which are bedrooms.
The villa was built in 1928 according to the design of the renowned Latvian architect Eižens Laube as the summer residence of public figure Jānis Dāvis. In 2005, the building was reconstructed and expanded.
In the 1990s, the property belonged to Adrian Dāvis and Olgerts Visvaldis Dāvis, former board members of the gas company Latvijas gāze. Later, Ilya Segal, a former shareholder of the metallurgical enterprise Liepājas metalurgs, became its owner. In 2013, he gifted the villa to his son Eduard, who then sold it to Gvardeytseva.
The Belarusian businesswoman acquired the house and plot in November 2018. According to publications at the time, she did not need a mortgage loan for the purchase.
The current sale price is 450 thousand euros higher than the amount she paid eight years ago.
