FBI Accuses North Korea of Stealing Over $6 Billion from Binance
According to the FBI, North Korean hackers have already begun laundering assets stolen from the crypto exchange, converting them into Ethereum cryptocurrency.

The US FBI stated that North Korea is behind the theft of over $6 billion in digital assets from the cryptocurrency exchange Binance, Reuters writes.
According to the FBI, the attack was carried out by the TraderTraitor group, which operates with the support of the North Korean state. Law enforcement noticed the stolen assets being converted into Ethereum cryptocurrency and are anticipating further money laundering operations.
Pyongyang has for years denied using state-sponsored cyber units for espionage, stealing money, and generating revenue.
Binance, the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange, estimated the stolen amount at $6.3 billion. This incident became the world's largest theft of digital assets.
The exchange reported that it had covered 95% of the losses and would gradually resume withdrawals.
