The Belsat TV channel learned about Vasily Veremeichik's sentence from Vasily's wife, Eugenia.

Vasily Veremeichik was detained in Vietnam on November 13, 2024, and extradited to Belarus on the 14th.
34-year-old Veremeichik graduated from the Military Academy of Belarus and served in Pechi. He resigned from the service in 2016, after which he worked in IT.
In 2020, he supported the movement for free elections, participated in rallies and marches. In November 2020, he was detained on suspicion of arson of cars belonging to employees of the prosecutor's office, which had already become one of the main organizers of mass repressions. But after 10 days of arrest, he was released: no evidence was found.
In early 2021, due to the threat of re-arrest, he emigrated to Ukraine and lived with his family in Lviv.
After Russia's attack on Ukraine, he immediately, in February 2022, joined the Belarusian Kastus Kalinouski Battalion. He served as deputy commander of the «Volat» battalion and was awarded the medal «Ukraine Above All».
Known by the call sign «Patsuk», he participated in battles in the Kherson, Mykolaiv, and Luhansk regions.
After being discharged from the army, he tried to get a job in Lithuania, but failed to legalize there, as the local authorities, due to his former affiliation with law enforcement agencies in Belarus, considered him a threat to national security. After that, he traveled first to Georgia, and then to Vietnam, where he fell into the hands of Lukashenka's security forces.
