Around 5:15 AM today, firefighters received a signal about a significant gas concentration and dispatched large forces to the building — a total of about 80 employees and several units of equipment.

By 8 AM, the alarm was called off. As a representative of the fire service told Bild, the source of the gas could not be identified. Employees in protective suits inspected the premises but found no hazardous substances.
According to a preliminary theory, the cause of the alarm could have been a "highly concentrated cleaning agent," noted the service representative.
Due to the operation in the morning, traffic and bus routes in the Reichstag area were temporarily restricted.
