On May 18, a 37-year-old man drove his car to a restaurant in Mersin, southern Turkey, and opened fire.

As a result of the shooting, one of the employees died on the spot. The owner of the establishment was also wounded — the man was taken to the hospital.
Fleeing from the restaurant, the man opened fire on passersby, wounding eight people, including a truck driver.
According to local media, 5 people died as a result, one of them a local shepherd who was watching over his animals near the road. 7 people were wounded.
The attacker is currently being sought with the help of a helicopter.
