Belarusian Resisted Police in France. Now the Court Has Ordered Him to Pay Them Almost 1000 Euros
The court in Aix-en-Provence considered the civil claims of two police officers against a Belarusian convicted of resistance. He did not appear at the hearing.

On October 15, 2026, the judicial tribunal of the French city of Aix-en-Provence ordered a Belarusian to pay two police officers a total of approximately $1090 (972 euros). This money is for covering their legal fees. Such a decision was published in the database of French court decisions.
According to the document, on June 11, 2024, the criminal court of Aix-en-Provence found the man guilty of resisting two police officers while they were performing their official duties. What exactly happened and why the police tried to detain him is not described in the decision. What punishment the Belarusian received is also unknown from the document.
Both police officers joined the case as civil plaintiffs. The court then ordered a medical examination for them and ordered the convicted person to pay each 900 euros in court costs.
However, the court decided to consider their claims for compensation at a separate hearing.
The examinations were conducted. The damage to the police officers was compensated by CIVI — a state commission that pays compensation to victims of crimes. At the hearing on September 17, 2026, the police officers asked to recover only legal fees from the Belarusian. The court granted this request and ordered the decision to be executed immediately, as "a lot of time has passed since the events".
The convicted person did not appear at the hearing, and he had no representative. According to the decision, he lives in Belarus.
