"By leaving a validated ticket in the cabin, you are primarily doing yourself a disservice," the enterprise notes.
Belarusians, upon exiting public transport, often leave their used tickets there so that subsequent passengers can use them. "Minsktrans" asks not to do this.
"It seems like a small favor: you got off, left a ticket on the seat — let someone ride for free. In reality, this 'care' deprives the very transport you honestly paid for of funding.
If someone rides for free with your ticket, the transport enterprise loses revenue. And it is from these funds that the repair of rolling stock is financed, new comfortable transport is purchased, and convenient routes are maintained. Because of this, you yourself, as an honest passenger, risk waiting longer for your bus and traveling in less comfortable conditions. It turns out you paid for yourself, and by leaving the ticket, you worsened the conditions of your own journey," the enterprise's message states.
Minsktrans urges passengers not to leave tickets on seats but to take them with them.
"Let's value our own comfort and respect the work of those who work for you. Remember that a validated ticket is valid for only one trip and is not valid on the next journey on this route," the enterprise warns.
