Boiler houses that will run on pellets are being built in the Gomel region
In Vasilievichi, Rechitsa district, Gomel region, a boiler house is planned to be built that will operate on local fuels. Up to 2 million 232 thousand rubles, or more than 741 thousand dollars, are to be spent on construction and installation works, commissioning works, and equipment supply. The money will be allocated from the customer's own funds — "Gomeloblteploset", writes "Flagstock".

The main works are expected to begin in November 2026 and be completed by mid-July 2027.
The documentation does not specify exactly which types of local fuel will be used. However, the report of the Rechitsa District Housing and Communal Services on plans for 2026 mentions the construction of two boiler houses running on wood fuel pellets. One of them should appear in the city of Vasilievichi, the second — in the agro-town Babichi.

In Babichi, the construction of the pellet boiler house is already nearing completion. According to the report of the Gomel Regional Department for Supervision of Rational Use of Fuel and Energy Resources, in September 2026, the territory was being landscaped, engineering networks were being connected, and equipment was being set up there.

The district housing and communal services stated that the use of pellets will increase the energy efficiency of heat supply, reduce the cost of thermal energy, and make the system more reliable.
In the Gomel region, there are three large pellet production plants that are part of the Ministry of Forestry system. The plants in Mozyr and Zhitkovichi, opened in 2020, had previously been idle due to sanctions and the Russian war. Initially, their products were planned to be supplied to the European Union to generate foreign currency revenue, but as a result, producers had to reorient to the domestic market.
It is assumed that these plants can supply fuel for new boiler houses in the Rechitsa district. Official data on the operation of pellet enterprises in the Gomel region have not been updated for a long time. According to "Flagstock", they apparently continue to work predominantly for the domestic market.
