In Smarhon, commissioning works are being completed at the second oil extraction plant in Belarus, belonging to the company "Belagrofirminal", which is part of the international group "Sodruzhestvo". This was reported by BelTA.

The enterprise is designed for processing various oilseed crops. Here, they will process rapeseed, soybeans, flax, and also sunflower seeds — a new crop for the Belarusian industry.
After launch, the plant will become the only enterprise in Belarus that processes all types of oilseed crops.
The Hrodna Regional Executive Committee expects that the new production will increase the export of vegetable oils and reduce livestock farming's dependence on imported meal. Earlier, company representatives reported that the plant would be able to provide up to 50% of the Belarusian market's needs for domestically produced meal — about 300 thousand tons per year.
The "Sodruzhestvo" group of companies was founded in 1994 by spouses Alexander and Natalia Lutsenko. In Belarus, they started with trading feed additives, and later created one of the largest holdings for processing oilseed crops. The group's production assets are located in Russia, Belarus, Brazil, and Turkey.
In 2024, after business restructuring, the Russian and Belarusian assets were merged into the company "Sodruzhestvo Rus".
