Saladuha's Performance Unexpectedly Canceled One Day Before the Concert
Alexander Saladuha planned to present his new album "Igrait, muzykant" (Play, Musician) in Navapolatsk. However, now the few spectators are getting their money back for tickets.
Saladuha planned to perform on November 4th at the Navapolatsk House of Culture "Naftan" with the program "Igrait, muzykant" (Play, Musician), dedicated to the release of his 15th album. According to Saladuha himself, he has already performed this program in 74 cities of Belarus, and brought singer Timur Prakhin along – he performs during the intermission.
The singer chose a venue respectable by regional standards – the main concert hall in that house of culture seats 600. It seems this was his undoing: one day before the concert, an announcement appeared that Saladuha would not perform in Navapolatsk.
In the comments, the scandal with the hyped advertisement for the bookmaker "Maxline" was recalled, where Saladuha advised to "twist the goose" (an idiom roughly meaning to play tricks or operate shrewdly). The incident was so loud that Lukashenka later commented – saying, "everyone twists this goose in our country".
However, the performance fell through for a more prosaic reason. According to the organizers, the concert was canceled because the singer failed to fill the hall.
It seems that the unique ticket sales scheme for Belarus, which Saladuha once devised, is no longer working. Before a concert in some district center, the singer personally called the heads of local enterprises with an offer to buy tickets for his concert.
