Finland's Football Federation Fined a Total of 30 Thousand Euros for a Vivid Anti-Lukashenka Banner
The start of the UEFA Nations League match between the national teams of Finland and Belarus, which took place on September 29 in Helsinki, was marked by a vivid performance.

After the game began, a large banner appeared in the stands with the inscription Sun päiväs koittaa, which can be translated from Finnish as "Your day will come." Its content speaks for itself. On it, an owl attacks an insect, presumably a cockroach.
The Belarusian Football Federation filed a complaint with UEFA. Additionally, political slogans and actions during football matches are penalized.
On October 9, 2026, the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body made a decision on this matter. The Finnish side was found in violation of a UEFA disciplinary regulation article — disruption during the performance of national anthems — and was fined 10,000 euros. The stands met the national anthem of Belarus with whistles, and before the start of the game, fans chanted "Putin – khuylo."
In addition, Finland received a fine of 20,000 euros for displaying messages that do not correspond to the nature of a sporting event. The total amount of sanctions was 30,000 euros.
