Belavia explained the difficulty with direct flights to the Maldives
A press conference dedicated to Civil Aviation Workers' Day was held in Minsk today. Katsiaryna Radzisheuskaya, head of Belavia's marketing and foreign economic activity service, spoke about the difficulties in launching flights to the Maldives, writes Blizko.by.

— We predict a one-way passenger flow. There will be a passenger flow from Belarus to Malé (the capital of the Maldives), but we do not predict a significant flow from the Maldives to Belarus, sufficient for operating the route. We cannot rely on transit flow. These will be tourists, and the number of business passengers will be minimal. It is the combination of factors that makes a flight profitable. Therefore, we are not yet ready to announce the launch of flights to the Maldives.
She also said that new flight destinations to China may appear in the route network in the future.
— We are working on expanding our presence in China. Currently, we fly to Urumqi and Sanya. By expanding our presence, we mean both increasing the number of flights on existing routes and opening new routes. The Chinese market is huge, we are negotiating with Chinese partners, exploring opportunities. We really want to delight passengers with news, but not today. We are looking with perspective at Guangdong province, where the cities of Guangzhou and Shenzhen are located.
