Zelensky admitted the possibility of holding elections in Ukraine in an online format
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that the authorities might consider the possibility of holding elections in an online format. However, organizing such a vote amidst war conditions would be very difficult, writes «RBC-Ukraine».

In an interview with German TV channel ZDF, Zelensky noted that a significant portion of Ukrainian citizens would not be able to fully participate in elections. Among others, this includes military personnel who are at the front and do not have the technical capability to vote.
According to the Ukrainian president, millions of Ukrainian soldiers are in the trenches, making it practically impossible to organize voting for them in a conventional format.
He emphasized that it is the military, first and foremost, who should have the opportunity to choose the head of state, as they have preserved Ukraine's independence and continue to defend it.
Zelensky acknowledged that all professions are important, but during wartime, the work of military personnel is of particular significance, as they risk their lives daily. Therefore, he called holding elections without the participation of soldiers unfair.
The President of Ukraine did not rule out that voting could be organized online. However, for this, the parliament would have to develop and adopt relevant decisions.
Earlier, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk stated that it is currently impossible to hold elections through the state service «Diia». According to him, during voting for «Eurovision» participants in this service, problems already arose, indicating possible complexities of such a mechanism.
Stefanchuk also reported that the Verkhovna Rada is working on a bill that should determine the possibility of holding elections in Ukraine during the war. At the same time, he believes that organizing them under current conditions is absolutely impossible.
