Lithuania ready to send envoy for special assignments to Belarus
Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budrys stated on one of the programs that Lithuania would be ready to send an envoy for special assignments to Belarus for negotiations. He noted that such a level of representation is possible and that Lithuania has repeatedly offered this to Belarus both orally and in writing, writes LRT.

At the same time, Kęstutis Budrys expressed doubts about the usefulness of negotiations with Belarus, noting that more serious negotiations should receive "approval at the national level". He emphasized that decisions on sanctions and many other issues are within the competence of the European Union, and therefore Lithuania alone does not resolve them.
Recently, an increase in smuggling from Belarus using hot-air balloons has disrupted the operations of Vilnius and Kaunas airports. This led to a temporary restriction of work at border checkpoints with Belarus, and Minsk now refuses to allow trucks registered in Lithuania to leave the country. The Lithuanian leadership calls these actions a hybrid attack by the Lukashenka regime.
