Iran rejected Pakistan's proposal to end the war with the US and Israel, under which Tehran was supposed to unblock the Strait of Hormuz to cease hostilities, Reuters reports.
A high-ranking Iranian official told the agency that Iran had received a peace proposal from Pakistan and was reviewing it, but refused to open the Strait of Hormuz in exchange for a temporary truce.
He added that Tehran would not accept any terms or pressure regarding the conclusion of an agreement. Iran also believes that the US is not ready for a permanent ceasefire.
This was Tehran's response to the framework plan for ceasing hostilities and subsequently concluding a peace agreement from Pakistan, which was also handed over to the United States on Monday night.
Islamabad expected the details of the agreements to be finalized today, April 6. The plan envisages an immediate ceasefire and the opening of the Strait of Hormuz, as well as the subsequent conclusion of a comprehensive agreement within 15-20 days.
