According to the organization's decision, Belarusian and Russian kayakers and canoeists will be able to compete in international competitions under their countries' names, with flags, anthems, and other national symbols.

Until the end of 2026, athletes from Belarus and Russia will still compete in neutral status. The decision was made in accordance with the recommendations of the International Olympic Committee.

However, certain exceptions are provided. These concern tournaments whose right to host was officially granted before January 1, 2027. If the full participation of Belarusian and Russian athletes is hindered by the legislation or decisions of the host country's authorities, they will be able to participate without national symbols during official ceremonies. If the restrictions are even more severe, the athletes will compete in neutral status.

Thus, from the beginning of 2027, Belarusian representatives in kayaking and canoeing are expected to regain their national symbols and full status on the international arena.
