State Border Guard Service of Ukraine: The number of mobile repeaters in Belarus has increased
Russia is again using repeaters on the territory of Belarus, which amplify the signal and allow drones to be controlled at a significant distance from the control point. Andriy Demchenko, a representative of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, stated this on the air of the Ukrainian "24th channel".
According to him, Belarus continues to facilitate Russian air attacks on Ukraine by allowing its territory to be used for signal transmission and amplification equipment.
Demchenko noted that Russian drones of the "Shahed" and "Geran" types, heading to the western regions of Ukraine and to sections of the border with Poland, receive additional signal amplification from the territory of Belarus.
According to the representative of the Ukrainian border service, this equipment in Belarus is only activated periodically. At the same time, the number of mobile repeaters has significantly increased.
Demchenko believes that the Belarusian side fears that Ukraine will be able to accurately determine the locations of repeater operation. He also stated that Belarus, in his opinion, under pressure from Russia, chose this method of assistance because it does not want to increase the number of its military personnel near the Ukrainian border and incur possible losses.
Ukraine, Demchenko assures, is working to stop the repeaters on Belarusian territory from functioning. He noted that this work likely has a non-public nature and may involve other Ukrainian services and units.
