The harvest season continues to impress with records. This time, a resident of Grodno boasted of his achievement.
As the owner of the plot recounted, they decided to plant pumpkins at the dacha at the beginning of the season. Moreover, the man used the most ordinary seeds. Therefore, no one expected such a result — almost 150 kilograms, writes newgrodno.by.
«It was a bit late, honestly, when I pollinated it. And I didn't care for it exactly as they write in smart articles. If I had done everything properly, I think the result would have been better,» he says.
The Grodno resident hasn't yet decided what to do with the harvest. So for now, the pumpkin is more a source of pride, and not the only one. A 50-kilogram «neighbor» is growing in the adjacent bed.
By the way, both pumpkins have not yet been picked (a separate system is used for weight calculation), so theoretically, the harvest could become even heavier.
The largest pumpkin in the country's history is considered to be one weighing 520 kg, which was once grown in the Brest region.
The world record belongs to Briton Ian Paton, who grew a pumpkin weighing 1295.8 kg!
