Sakhashchyk's youngest son declared missing. It appears he fought for Russia
The Kantemirovskaya Tank Division — an elite unit of the Russian army — reported the disappearance of 23-year-old Belarusian Viktor Sakhashchyk, son of businessman Valery Sakhashchyk, former "Minister of Defense" of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya. Viktor previously lived in Poland, even served in its army there, but returned to Belarus a year and a half ago.

In Russia, 23-year-old Viktor Valerievich Sakhashchyk, a native of Brest, has been declared missing. There is nothing unusual about Belarusians being added to the wanted list; usually, this happens at the request of Belarusian security forces in connection with some criminal case.
But the situation with Viktor Sakhashchyk is different. First, he was added to the missing persons database at Russia's initiative, not Belarus's. Second, the contact numbers listed for providing information about the person belong to the Kantemirovskaya Tank Division.
In current realities, the combination of these factors with a high degree of probability indicates that we are talking about a Belarusian mercenary who died in the war in Ukraine, but whose body could not be recovered.
«Viktor lived with me for probably the last eight years, but a year and a half ago his mother, with whom I am divorced, came to him. He was already living separately at that moment. She stayed with Viktor for a week — and persuaded him to return to Belarus. I couldn't influence that, he's an adult. We haven't maintained contact with him since.
I cannot say exactly where he has been recently, all this is very painful and difficult for me. It's hard for me to believe that he could have served in the Russian army. When he was here, he adhered to the same life values as I did, and was ready to go fight for Ukraine," Valery Sakhashchyk told "Nasha Niva".
Viktor Sakhashchyk was born on February 26, 2003. He is the youngest son of Valery Sakhashchyk, a businessman and former representative of the United Transitional Cabinet for Defense and National Security (2022-2024). Sakhashchyk joined Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya after Russia's attack on Ukraine, which he condemned in his address to Belarusian and Russian military personnel. Two years later, he withdrew from politics.

Viktor studied in Brest at school №14 and gymnasium №6. His Vkontakte page indicates that from 2018-2022 he studied at an architectural and construction technical school in Warsaw.

Valery Sakhashchyk said in an interview that he has five children. His two elder sons (referring to Alexander and Oleg) worked in Poland in the same business as him. But his youngest son — this is Viktor — was serving in the Polish army at the time.
«He found himself a very interesting profession — a diver-rescuer. He mastered many specialties. And he really likes the team and the work. To my question why the navy, he answered: "Dad, well, you were also the first paratrooper in our family. Well, I'll try this," Sakhashchyk said in "TOK".
Viktor Sakhashchyk's Telegram account was subscribed to job search channels in Moscow and St. Petersburg.
