Company Head Tried to Apply for a Job at His Own Company — And Was Rejected
For months, the team couldn't find a new employee, and its head decided to check how the selection process works. He submitted his own resume under a different name — and received a rejection within six minutes. The Economic Times drew attention to the Reddit post.
According to the author, his nine-person team had been needing a senior specialist since April. However, the HR department repeatedly reported that there were few candidates and they were not passing the selection process.
Then the manager created a new email address, changed the name and some dates in a resume mostly based on his own experience, and applied for the vacancy.
He had written the job description himself earlier, and tailored his application accordingly.
He received a rejection within six minutes. "For the resume of the person who actually wrote the job description," he emphasized the irony of the situation.
It turned out that the HR department entrusted the initial selection to an automatic filter, which looked for exact keywords in resumes. The filter was looking for the exact combination "React.js", but his resume had "React" written. These are two names for the same tool used to develop website and application interfaces.
Now the manager suspects that because of this, the company might have been rejecting suitable specialists for months, even before a human could read their resumes.

А сейчас так вообще как будто работу можно найти только по сарафанному радио. Соответствуешь, вылизываешь резюме, пишешь час крутое сопроводительное, откликаешься — шаблонный отказ через 15 минут. И хрен пойми, что этих подборщиков не устроило.
